      Dude,

Just seen what's happened. Sorry to hear all that. If you need a hand fixing, give me a shout. I know I'm generally not much help, but I can pass you spanners and stuff and I can work a kettle!!

I hope apart from that, all is well.

I handed my Surf over to a local garage to do the head once I'd sourced the bits for it. Soooo glad I didn't have to do it myself cos it weighs a bl00dy ton!

At a guess it'll take two of you to do it or some sort of winch or something.

I did the head on my lj70 (2LT motor) took the bonnet off which made it alot easier and had a hand to get it out, it still was a bit of a PITA. Putting it back in wasnt to bad did that by myself. Although to be fair, at the time I was in the military and used to spend a bit of time in the gym .

I was just thinking that... Its not the weight, It's the plumbing that makes it tricky...

Tony, all the valves and stuff are out, Where do I send em?

(I made a valve spring compressor today....)

                    I edited it

Its so much easier with a engine hoist, you can leave all the manifolds on and strip it properly on the bench.

you'll struggle to lift the head with all the gubbings and not drop it on the rad or rest it somewhere fragile, its not worth the risk. especially the cast iron 2.4 heads.
