  • doing bit of repairs on truck

    replacing the last of the out standing bits onto surf this saturday, and advice on what should be done when i change the calipers and pads on the front of surf, is there anything else to do while i am down there??? gonna replace missing drive shaft and probably change the cv boots on passenger side.....


    so i am open for all hints and tips....





    dont say can of paint thinners and a rag and matches.....

    Hi, if your stripping down most of the front end,change all the CV Boots.You wont need to go there again for some time! Re-grease the wheel bearings and make any adjustments necassary.

      nah i would of just used a match and petrol and save the rag to wipe my hands on

        cheers for the heads up baron, have one new drive shaft complete so its only the existing one i am changing the boots on...

            Check the brass bushes in the hub for wear! They are just inside the hub at the back and you will see the one at the front
            I NEEED MUD.....and Welsh spring water!!!

              there are new brass bushes both sides :P thats was done before bearing failure...
