i will say one constructive thing martin, and that is i have a feeling that they split the live feed from the fog light switch to power the radio.

got the fog light working but the switch not illuminating tho there a terminal not connected and when i connect a black wire found lurking in there it blows the fuse

yea thats coz youve got the other terminals round the wrong way.pull the switch out and find the earth terminal on the switch.the black wire is the earth.the other two are live in and switched live to fog lamp.this is where a multi meter comes in very handybasically, pull all three wire through the dash.put a circuit tester on one wire and the other end on the door hinge, turn the light on to dipped beam as the wire that lights up the circuit tester is your live feed to the switch.then once you have found the live wire, keep the end of the circuit tester on that wire then remove the wire from the door hinge, strike this agains one of the other two wires.the one that lights up the bulb is the earth, then that leaves one wire which has to be the switched live to the fog lamp.simples

                            Pops.

Both surfs I've had, I've run a new live and earth. It was a damm sight easier than trying to trace old(and probably messed around with) wiring.
