Flip out TFT Any ideas?

Ive got an old laptop with a car charger, gonna stick it in the truck, ive got GPS receiverr for it and a 24bit sound card i was going to pile through existing stereo.


Any ideas on a reasonable Cheap TFT Display Single DIN? with VGA Out.

im considering doing something similar with an old laptop i have although i was going to 'try' and fit its 15" screen somewhere on the front dash.

id check ebay for a DIN unit but with VGA IN instead

i wouldnt buy something new from HK, instead get something used from the UK.

yeah your probably right, dont know were i could put a 15" monitor! :P
Would need to be touch screen aswell i had one but stupidly sold

Not sure what your truly after here, are you looking to replace your existing stereo with a motorised touchscreen version or keep it and add a monitor.
If you want to add a touchscreen, then why not go for a replacement over head console with a drop down screen that way the size can be of your choosing (so long as it doesn't interfear too much with windscreen visibility) plus it will take vga input.
If you want to replace your stereo, you might have a wider choice if you use a vga/s-video to RCA cable, when I was looking for a replacement there were loads that take an RCA input but not many with vga, having said that, there's probably loads about now.

true the surfs have double din, want to keep the existing stereo which has audio inputs ( I replaced ) and put in a TFT above it. keep it all tidy
so its easy access, the CD player will litraly be there for the radio and tft will play MP3's, GPS and 3G dongle for lonely nights of porn while sitting in the car!
