HELP Cant PM !

    HELP Cant PM !

    Help I can't send PM's

    I log in, view a page, try to reply and it says I'm not logged in

    When I try to send PM's I log in, write PM, send it then I get a message saying PM's are turned off... then I return to the board and I'm logged out !

    Help please ?

    go to profile then options and tick the box enable private messaging, then you should be ok

      Been there, tried that !!

      The box is alreday ticked. I even tried unticking, saving then re-ticking Still no joy !

        Seen one supposed solution on the vBulletin Forum, they suggest going to Tools / internet options and deleting all cookies, shut down internet explorer and log in to the forum.

        Not sure if this works, and is it a solution (I think not - just a workaround) however hopefully these problems will go when I upgrade the forum to the latest release (Haven't done it yet as I have yet to get a backup of the threads properly yet).

        Hopefully get it done during the week.

        Could also try this.
        Add the forum as a rrusted site, go to tools, internet options then
        select the security tab then sites and add the forum address. Then
        select the privacy tab and make sure the slider is set to medium.

          I'm using Netscape and haven't had any of the logging out probs ppl have talked about. I have a different problem though - topics & threads that I have not read keep on getting marked as read. Eg: Looking at the main forum index page I would have some topics that I have not read (marked with a yellow icon). Then I refresh the page and magically it thinks I have read everything (grey icon).

          Does that make sense to anyone?

            Makes sense, i refresh the page after i have read them to make them appear read.
