          1) 2001 - A Space Odyssey (the absolute best sci-fi film ever - consider when it was written / made!)
          2) Apocalypse Now (best war film ever)
          3) Either Pi (strange trippy B&W film) or...
3a) Requiem for a Dream (horrific - deffo one to show the kids if they mention drugs!)
          3b) Donnie Darko (great fun)
3c) American Beauty (beautiful, sad, funny and thought provoking)
3d) Easy Rider (of its time)
3e) Matrix (1st one, broke the mould)
3f) The Motorcycle Diaries (for the cinematography)
3g) Sunshine (dont know why, just like it)
3h) Event Horizon (Sam Neill's finest moment!)
3i) TopGun (you can be my wingman...)
3j) Moon (really great story line, only one actor if I recall)
          3k) Phone Booth (great idea!)
3l) Alien/s (1st one for the suspense, 2nd one for an all out war film. The rest are just a case of milking it!)
3m) Monsters inc, Toy Story 1, Finding Nemo (Clever. Too many derivatives now though)
3n) The Race for the Moon (loads of unseen footage narrated by the Apollo astronauts - a 'must see' for space fans)
3o) Full Metal Jacket (Another Kubrik masterpiece)
3p) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (while I'm thinking of Kubrik)
3q) Existenz (Dunno why, but bits of it make me feel sick - and confused - but its great!)
3r) Mad Max 1 (its crap, but somehow unmissable!)
3s) The Taking of Pelham 123 (original and remake both great films)
3t) Reservoir Dogs (so violent and horrible its hilarious!)
3u) The Daniel Craig Bond films (best Bond by far! Properly nasty! More believable in the role than the rest)
3v) Solaris (despite George Cloony, its rather good! - the original may be where the idea for Event Horizon came from?)
3w) Some Like it Hot (nice hangover cure)
3x) Its a Wonderful Life (as above)
3y) The Boy in Striped Pyjamas (a must see for younger generation who wonder why we still have Remembrance Day)
3z) Life is Beautiful (Italian film, lovely to watch but with a message)

There you go Popeye! A way of listing a few more without going over 3
Cutting steps in the roof of the world
