should i go for Pro Comp(exploreruk) or Desert Fox(roughtrax)??????
explorer UK are out of business, last I heard. If they arent, they should be.
You wont go wrong with Roughtrax,
and both kits are basically identical except for the name
I fitted Desert Fox to my truck about 6 weeks ago. They do the job and don't seem to be any better or worse than any other for the price. The paint finish on them is a bit lacking in my opinion and they have already started to rust.

I fitted desert fox over a year ago, work ok, i did give em a coat of clear laquer before fitting and no rust at all, plus it gets a spray of wd etc now and again
I've got Pro-comps on my 2nd gen, and the Desert Foxes just look better quality, on a par with TJM.
Performance wise I guess they're the same, but I'll definitely buy the Foxes again in the future.

cool, i've always had pro comps so never really rated another shock. trying to way up the odds of which kit to go for.
Good idea Popeye, I never gave WD a thought. Even though mine have already started to decompose, I don't suppose giving them a blast of WD every once in a while will hurt.
I sent the first lot of Desert Fox back for replacement because one of the front pair would only return to the extended position if it was forced and both rears had dodgy welding on the eyed ends. The replacements seemed ok apart from the paint, especially on the rear pair. They looked like they had been sprayed whilst hanging up.....but sprayed on one side only. The other side had a very slight dusting of white paint the entire length of the shock but the steel underneath was obvious. I didn't have time to re-paint them either as they didn't arrive until the morning of the day they were being fitted.

I laqured mine when they were new and before i fitted them, once on i just gave em a light spraying with wd, up the skirt as well
most aftermarket stuff aint too well painted in my experience, after all they dont want it to last too long, they want you replaceing as often as possible
but there again i'm the only nutter on here thats red hammerited the chassi
Think Ill have mine off again and respray them. To match the Monroe yellow ones at the front.
Only problem is the coilovers are rusty in a few places as well, (my fault as i dinged them a few times getting them on) and theres no way I'm having those off again.
