I finally collected my Surf from Southampton docks yesterday.

I'm sure there's a nice car underneath all the dust... I'll give it a wash tonight and find out!

A word of caution for anyone thinking of importing their own Surf... If you have to collect it from Southampton Cargo Handling Ltd - take a couple of 'chill pills' before you get there!!

Hi Linda there is not alot too importing your own "SURF" there are enough threads around explaining what to do. lts just having the bottle to send the money over 1st.

Garage??? Oh, you mean the attached, brick built shed/store room with up & over door.

My Rover 620 didn't fit in there... well, it would go through the door but then there was no room to open the car door once inside!

Just got it MOT'd... no probs, to quote the tester, "emissions spot-on, immaculate underneath, rear fog lamp's a bit pink!!".

For fog lamp I rewired the offside reversing lamp and fitted a shop bought red bulb, but didn't bother painting the lens... ultimately I intend to fit something in the bumper and would like to revert the lamp to a reversing light.

I've taken all the paperwork into the DVLA office and was told by the girl, "we're not very busy at the moment, you might get the docs and tax disc in the post Saturday morning"...

"Funny", I thought, if they're not very busy, why was there only 1 of 4 serving positions open and a queue of about a dozen people???
