It's a nice afternoon & the timing belt needs changing. I'm hoping this is not gonna be too traumatic!

Well, that was on the grand scale of things pretty easy. The only problem was with the pattern idler roller casting. It was 1.5mm too wide at the pivot bolt, which caused the part to lock tight when torqued up. I swapped the new idler roller onto the original Toyota casting & all was well.
I'll speak to Roughtrax re the oversized part.
The old belt looked in really good nick, but I reccon that perhaps visual appearances may not reveal a belt that's about to let go. The idler roller bearings were distinctly floppy, so it's def. worth replacing all the components involved.
