query re: pre 90 surfs and removable tops

Hi All,

Am wondering if anyone can help me with pre 90 surfs and which models have removable tops. From what i have read from history of the hilux articles, they all had them, but from what I have seen for sale around here in NZ not all of them do.

Is anybody able to give me any clues on this?

The 1st generation models from '84 to '89 (August) have removeable hardtops. When removed it leaves the hilux with a normal pick-up profile minus the back of the cab. They are not designed for removal and reffitting on a regular basis as they are bolted on.
