Choice of Lexus V8 swap or another 3l Surf?

I need some advice

I have a choice of either selling my current 3l with its undiagnosed electrical fault and buying another 3l that hopefully works or swapping the engine and gearbox out for a R151 and Lexus V8.

If I keep the original surf, its already lifted etc. and the elec fault is probably gearbox or ECU related so would be binned in the conversion

Or go and buy a cheapo 3l and fit all the lift kit off the current one.

How much of the existing wiring is swapped?

Am I better off buying a knackered LS400 and breaking it (recoup some costs) or engine only and after market ECU?

Also, I'd prefer to keep it an auto if possible so maybe 3litre supra auto box may fit?

The lexus engine AND box both fit. I do believe you need to cut the out put shaft from the box, but that's it.
