  • Lifting a Surf - components

I will be lifting the surf soon. Last time I looked into doing this was 2007 and it was done by TonyN. We used procomp shocks and spring spacers.

Where is the best place to buy procomp shocks from? I cannot see them on roughtrax, they now have some other make. Are these the preferred ones? Is it best to buy 2" springs or the 2" spacers? Roughtrax has the springs for £68.

I'm thinking of doing the 4" lift on the back eventually. Is it then pointless me going for 2" shocks, should I buy / fit 4" longer shocks?

Tony do you still sell the spacers? I had the nylon ones.

    Cheers very much

You're in luck, I have set of these 4crawler spacers left, I also have a set of Procomp ES9000 shocks that will fit left as well.

Procomp importer went out of business so i think RT has just sourced different ones.

You can have the spacers and shocks for £100. They are all brand new.

I have a introduction letter from the company who took over importing, but havn't ordered any yet, but most shops seem to have stopped selling them, so maybe harder to get hold of now.

I'd assume the stuff Roughtrax selling are ok, but not fitted any yet.

I also have and can get TJM stuff still, but its more money but long term nicer.

ooh nice! I didnt know they went out of business. It's sad really because shocks were only around £35 each from roughtrax. The replacement shocks are a lot more expensive.
Tony I will buy those from you if that is okay - are these the +2" shocks?

If at a later date I wanted to replace my standard springs for +2" to make +4" would I also need to replace the rear shocks?

How would you like the funds? I did a bank transfer to Stormforce the other day - saved the paypal fees!

      Cheers Tony,
      Tony

Banks good, or send cheque, i'm not really worried. I think the shock will be fine for 4", I've recently fitted the same ones to a LC coiled truck with the adapters to and they still don't bottom out, which is 3" at least.

Do you want them posted, or collecting?

Same here. Someone managed to get my personal email accounts log in details and email all of my contacts a link to buy products to increase theirs too!

No, I want mine removed. All it has ever done is get me into trouble, and cost me a fortune.

A lift would be nice though.
