  • Newbie Alert!

    I have today purchased a 2.4 SSX.
Be prepared for endless inane questions about stuff, although I do know how to use the "search" function.

Its a black '93 2.4TD SSX with sunroof and a/c (is this the norm?), blacked out windows and a muckle great Kenwood CD/MD/Radio thing in the dash. (with frequency expander)
All the 'leccy bits work, although after reading the probs with the heads going, I took out an extended 12 month warranty. (£150)

Its currently getting a service, valet, MOT and registration done for me to pick it up next Friday.

Any other members from the NE of England in here?

Nice one Alun, had a '93 2.4TD SSR-X with sunroof and A/C in black myself a few years back, great machine.

A/C is standard but the sunroof would have been an optional extra when new.
Good to see you know about the search button

Don't forget, you have to post a few piccies when you can. Its the Law!

    Happy surfin

Yep theres a few NE members , but not many of them are regular posters.

It would be good to get a NE surf meet together.

Last time we held an off-road day up here ,we were outnumbered by the Southerners ( they're not a bad lot once you get to know them )

Hope you're planning to get it dirty.....its what surfs are made for.

      Welcome to the forum

        Cheers for the info peeps!

Geoff, I can assure you that it is my utmost intention to get it as muddy as possible.

I am up for any kind of NE meet (shifts allowing), would be great to meet some like mindeds.

I'm heading down the 'boro way next weekend to visit friends (marske by the sea), any good patches round your way for playing? (assuming I've got it by then!)

Theres a few lanes on the NY moors & some people play on Eston Hills , but it's not all strictly legal.

Theres a couple of good sites at RobinHoods Bay & Scarboro & the local NE4x4club has regular off road days at a place called Murton quarry just behind Dalton Park.

                  Hi Alun
Glad to see that you are joining the world of Surf owners.
Black is definitely the "in" colour, especially if its got silver wheelarch extensions!!

Welcome to the world of surfing. I too am from the NE - Washington. Have had my Surf for two years. They were very rare in those days but now I see quite a few different ones each week.
To be really exclusive you need to have what passed me on the Felling By-Pass earlier this week - a black Hummer with lots of extras and the reg no. V12 HUM. The slurping noise as it went along was even worse that the Surf!

I am certainly up for some "gentle" off roading but bought the Surf as a caravan puller so have no intention of putting it at risk.
