right, shall i get the toyota red coolant or off the shelf blue or green?

with the 'off shelf' stuff i can at least top up with water if need be.

or is the toyota red areally that good? who is using what?

You can't mix anything bar water with red coolant.

You can mix any coolant with water - including the Toyota red. So you can top up with water if you need to no matter what's in there.

If you have red (or had red) stick with red unless the whole cooling systems been well flushed then any colour is fine, if ya mix colours it'll gell up
