  • Idle-up??????????

Can someone link me to an explanation of the purpose of the idle-up switch? Please.
Yes i know it makes the engine idle at higher rpm's.... but why?

To warm it up on winter mornings while you have your tea and toast? To use if you have a winch fitted and need the extra revs. as you stand outside the cab operating it. Handy maybe if you are giving someone a jump start ?

It only works in 'P' or 'N' by the way, so you can't use it as a cruise control.

          Bogus got it.

Its to give your alternator a fighting chance to power heavy electrical loads.
