Speed sensor auto box P Reg 3rd gen diesel

Hi all

Just had a good diagnosis (free of charge) from the guys at Geartorque near Bolton re my gear change and speedo problems (needle flying everywhere and change up hesitant at times). They tell me that it is most likely a speed sensor that has gone. Apparently this fits on the rear of the box and feeds info to the speedo and the ecu. Now all I need is to source this part and find someone in the Bolton area who can fit it ! ( I am hopeless at the mechanical side of things). Any info greatly appreciated.

we took our 2nd gen there with i gearbox fault and the diagnostics showed the speed sensor, after replacing it the problem was still there,, so the diagnostics are not always right

Thanks for the comment. What was the final diagnosis on yours ? Did you solve it. Do you know any good mechanics in the Bolton/Wigan area ?
