Don't be daft. You haven't even paid the ad fee why don't we start with that.

I never said there was no mugs out there, I said 2k was a good price for you. If some dafty want's to give you 3 then I say well done.

The issue here is that you asked a question, got an honest opinion and because it didn't match yours, you took it ill out.

There's a few on here that do that regular, one should be along to help bob massage your ego back to health.

your car will find it's own price in the market , what ever
you think it's worth is dictated by what someone will
      pay for it ?

put on the for sale section and
see what respose you get ?

Thing is though Yoshie , you are renowned for your 'Bargain Basement offers' ? I remember some time back an old member asked if your ploy ever worked.

the guy has said he will post his ad when he is ready ? anyway darkdesigns isn't here for ego smoothing at the moment

Garbage, mine went for loads more than that and the phone rang off the hook. I actually had 4 people waiting to get the go ahead to view it who were p*ssed off because I sold it to the first viewer. I wouldn't have sold for less than I did purely due to the amount of time and money I spent on the truck.

Pistonheads is the place to sell a Surf. Mine went for the asking price in a matter of days.

His truck is worth a minimum of £2600 if its in excellent condition. Thats in todays public marketplace, not in the mind of Yoshie or any of the other bargain basement "I want everything for nothing" wallahs.

Advertise for £3000 and take an offer over £2700. I guarantee it wil be gone inside of a fortnight.

Have any of you actually read what brian had typed?

                      " I don't want it"......ring a bell anyone.
"I'm looking for a late 3rd gen".... Or am I imagining that too. Apart from apaches truck, the only second gen worth 3 grand, a buyer would be mad to spend that much on one. But of course that's what you hope for in a buyer... Insanity.

Mind there's no one on this site I'd buy I truck off except vince.

Grumpy flakes all round this morning was it?

The answer to the question is it's worth what someone will pay for it. I personally think someone will pay £3k for a lifted 3L in good condition. Not everyone, but someone. If you want to get rid of it, stick it on at £3k an accept offers. Or put it on ebay with a £2k reserve or something.

Whatever, just stop all having a tanty about how much it's worth.

I learnt to trust my own instincts when it comes to selling cars.....

In the early 80’s I advertised a car for sale. It was a rare Italian convertible..... a potential buyer offered me a few hundred less than my asking price and I was prepared to let the guy take the car at his offered price...... my parents told me not to let it go so cheap, so the guy ended up walking away without buying the car........
I did not have any more people come to see the car over the following weeks and in the end I sold it for a roughly half what the first guy had offered! I needed the space & to change over my insurance.

                                So what I learnt was:

                                1. Take the first reasonable offer
                                2. Make a record of everyone who phones to enquire about the car (you can call them back)
                                3. Keep the details of people who come to see the car (you can give them a second chance to buy)
                                4. Never say the car is sold until you have the cold hard cash in your hands / bank account
                                5. Always write an invoice and get the buyer to sign to say the car is “sold as seen”
                                6. The time waiting to get the right price is a luxury many people can’t afford (they need the space for their new car, insurance changed over and probably the funds from the sale).

I plan to sell my Surf soon. I have had it 3 ½ years now and it does not own me anything, so whatever I get for it will be a bonus.
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL
