  • New Guy

Hi there, i'm new to this forum and this is first post so if I screw it up pls bear with me....I'm called Phil, 34 and from Newcastle - don't hold that against me i'm a really nice guy ! :-)

I have a really poorly import Hilux 3l V6 and i'm in desperate need of a sensibly priced Airflow meter to save her life....Anyone have any ideas?

I was advised by a cracking chap I met yesterday on eBay to join you guys and use your expert help ! think his username could be 'stormforce'... if hes on here...thanks again !

Hi there Phil & welcome to Surfland!

I assume you mean "big Newcastle" (Tyneside) rather than "little Newcastle" (Staffs).

I used to live in the former but now live in the latter!

Welcome 'newbie'! Nice to see another Surf owner from the North East has made a great decision by joining the forum.

Planning some green lane trips in the next few month's if you're interested.

Welcome along. As a former V6 owner, if you need any counseling about the fuel bills, give me a shout. Just remember that your truck accelerates when you press the pedal, not a second afterwards. And it doesn't stink.

Only if there's one within 5 miles. Otherwise it decelerates, then rolls.

I miss mine too. I don't miss putting a whole tank of fuel in it to get to Yorkshire and I don't miss how ###### hot it was in there the whole time, but the V6 purr and the, erm.....eager, engine are sorely missed. Taking it over the alps on country lanes was one of the best driving experiecnes I ever had.

yeah, the number plate bit is nicer, or maybe just different, but I think its better.

The metal is the same shape, you just need to bin the reversing lights and get the long '4Runner' number plate light holder

I might do an old skool style frenched number plate seeing as I'm going to re-paint my truck anyway, I want to plate over and smooth the rear side windows too.

I wish these people that want engine swaps would just leave me alone so I could get on with it!
