A mate of mine has tightened up the slack on the two cables and it seems a little better, however he didnt want to take it up to much as he said he didnt want to till the mini service is done. However, is there some sort of rule of thumb in getting the tension correct.

I take it back, did the school run just now and its a familiar route that ive been monitoring the blank spot, its still there. Anybody have any other ideas as to what it might be. Its almost as if the gear change is a little slow catching up with acceleration. Im spending a lot of time using the OD button to compensate for that initial lack of power.
