I was bored today so started messing with the 4wd stick and a light on the dash came on i'd never seen! A/T P what does it mean? I think the box was in neutral at the time and while I'm on,What is H4L and L4L used for??

that's telling you that you're in park when the transfer box is in neutral... or is it saying you're not in park...

H4 and L4 are your 4wd modes... 4wd high and low

Thanks for that, but what does the small L mean in H4l and L4l? Does it mean high/low 4wd "locked" as I also have H2 and H4 which are the ones on the button!

L stands for locked centre diff on the 3rd gen I believe

Don't use the Center Diff on solid ground though (tarmac ect) only in slippery conditions but H4 and L4 are fine, if you see the little orange light on the dash where the 4wd indicators are you know the center diff is engaged.
