I don't know who's got it now but Fiona Richmond used to have FU2 on her E Type and the original editor of Hot Car (is that still going?) had GAY40. Mind you in those days it meant gay as in happy not walk with a lisp.
God am I letting my age out now.

The winner of Miss Scunthorpe Telegraph used to get a car for a year with the reg BRA 38D. I don't know if they had to be that size to win.

My mate had B4 DSV on his bike, read B4D SV, which was pretty funky (was an SV obviously), think he struggled to sell it for £400 in the end

I've got 'FO9825' to go on the cossie, not personal but an old Welsh reg that Tonia's dad has had since his 1st car..thats pretty cool i think

I think plates with your initials are sort of OK, but those where you have to pretend that a letter is a number (or vice versa) is just sad!

Did anyone see that programme a while back were a guy called Nigel who owned N 2 G E L was completely consumed in his desire to have the plate N 1 G E L that another Nigel owned? It was very sad and he put N 2 G E L up for sale in the end. http://www.theplatemarket.com/nigel_number_plate.php Wants £76,000

Quote from the add ““I’ve had my fun with it” Nigel says. “It would be sensible of me to have a less identifiable number plate - particularly as my driving is like it is!”

No, I think it is more a case of him coming across as such a prat in the documentary

He was Barry Sheene's team-mate when Baz was #1, so he can't have been that bad. Although I do recall him talking about how Barry had a completely different mentality than him.

They were qualifying on some track, and Steve mentioned to Barry that one particular corner was tricky, requiring a judicious dab of brakes to avoid hitting the armco.

Barry told him he hit the armco on every lap, as it meant he didn't have to brake.

I knew a bloke in Manchester who had M1 NGE.

I've got two on my Saabs. It's so people don't judge how old the car is and call me a pikey.

There's a highly visible Mercedes V-class people carrier in Edinburgh with the number PU51BAR, advertising a lap dancing club...

Sheene was a cracking storyteller. I remember reading some of his autobiography where he was going on about losing his virginity on a snooker table in a crypt under a church...

There's PU51 RUB on a beetle around town here.

My favourite has been on a drain-cleaning van. Their motto was "We're #1 in the #2 business!" and the plate was:

                        WH05 HAT.

Butcher in Camelon has M1 NCE

And in Glasgow I've seen POT 80S (I thought it was clever) on a Fruit and Veg van and a Black Porsche with W1 TCH.

Seen the PU51 BAR one a few times too.

Shirley's has a 4 in place of the A in MANX.

And not all people with Personalised Plates are W4nkers. Remember, we all have a personal number plate, some are just more personal than others.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

When we lived in Reading in the 80's I regularly saw a Roller with UFO 2 on it - then it appeared on a battered Punto for a few weeks before moving onto a Bentley
