    Hello

    My exhaust has started to rasp it's 2 years old from Kwik fit, took it back today and they said i had condensation/water in the middle box and thats whats making the rasp sound, told to take it on motorway, done this no difference, are they fobing me off or does this happen. have been doing short journeys lately.

    Take it back and tell them to change it. Water/condensation will always form in exhaust systems.

      any water would soak into the wadding and dry up when it next gets hot??... eventually that's what rusts the exhaust... but it won't make a noise in there??

        It sounds like a baffle plate has come loose. As said above, if it's under warranty insist they change it. What they might try to do, if you're not watching, is hit the box with a hammer to trap the baffle and stop it vibrating. If they change it, it doesn't cost them anything 'cos they will get it replaced by the manufacturer (who they screw into the ground on price in the first place)
