  • Need a set of warm, waterproof overalls

While KerrSurf was busy helping me with my Surf yesterday he was happily lying on the ice covered ground in his waterproof and insulated work overalls - my nice simple overalls are no use in the wet and just let me get soaked at the first touch of damp - no use in this cold weather.

So, anyone know a good place to get suitable overalls that won't cost a fortune??

I'm 6'6", so most overalls end up too short, especially in the leg....

Can't afford to spend a load on them, and happy to accept something not brand new!!!!

get some cheap waterproof trousers and wear them over your overalls? maybe warmer just by the fact your now have two layers on?

or you may know someone who works offshore? i'm pretty sure their overalls are weather proof and are very cosy - although bright red / orange.
    Everyone thinks I'm paranoid!!

Army surplus for some warm stuff, then like was said, throw some cheap waterproofs over them
A much better option is to make the tea while someone else does the work.

try PM-ing KerrSurf and ask where he got his from?

        Nissan Patrol for on-road, and a Land-Rover 110 shed for off-road :-)

I have a pair of thermal overalls, the offshore ones, but they're not waterproof. I just use cheap waterproofs over them. To be honest, they're too warm most of the time!

                        You're all pussies!!

You should be concentrating on what you're spannering, not how cold/wet it is.

I have a garage - just not enough space to bring a motor into it, and if you could shoehorn a motor into it there'd be no space left to work on it!

Oi! Bushwhacker! I'll happily work outside all day even in these cold temps - it's the heat I hate
