A winter drive (pics)

I took a wee drive up to the hills near my home.
The snow was amazing, like icy powder.
I'm a snowboarder and this is what they call champagne powder, so light you can't even make a snowball.

My son Callum had a great laugh, snow was actually too deep in places for sledging.









Loch Carron had frozen over, looked stunning, pics don't really do it justice.
On the way home we had a purple sunset! amazing.

That looks familiar Alan, no Snow when I saw it last year, Nice Pics Btw ..

Our wee town is surrounded by countryside like this.
I'd love to live in the highlands, somewhere really wild, but jobs are hard to come by up north.

Wow, pics are great and that's a big expanse of water to be frozen over, it must be bloomin cold there at the moment. Still no snow here though .

Over a 1000 acres of water. and aye it's a wee bit nippy, was nice today though, no wind and a wee bit of sun sometimes.

Take a flask and a bite to eat, go for a wander round the loch andy, it's so peaceful. amazing to watch the birds of prey too. loads about today.

I took the familey up to Nant Peris (in Nwales) on the 1st and 2nd and it was really snow bound, funny thing was all the honda civic drivers comming up there in trainers and those civics with low profile tyresI must have helped push about 5 of them out of the car park, then we went out on the old miners walk and made a snow man etc. If your thinking of heading up, take a packed lunch the cafe is closed for refurb and take proper clothing ffs hehe.

I'll try and post some pics tomorrow,. Oh and the Surf just smiled it's way in over a foot of compacted + fresh snow .....grin
