gotta agree with this, I have been arrested for allegedly causing a breach of the peace, turned out it was mistaken identity and I walked away from it but if I was abroad and something like this happened to me I would rather face paying another plane fare than possible further criminal charges by leaving.

Its just not worth running, at the very least he will never be allowed back here again if he runs, thats for sure. Why not speak to the court in which ever state/city he is in and explain that he needs to get on the plane back to the UK. They may just need his UK contact details and procceed in his absence. The authorities here in Australia can be quite harsh on things like this and will probably come down hard on him if caught.

I was thinking about this. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is call the airline and ask them to change the flight time. Should cost a few quid but much less than missing it all together.

Australia check your passport electronically on the way out and he'd get nowhere other than in the shit.

Thanks for the advice. I havnt spoke to him for a few days. I am told this is down to the night club bouncers getting their facts wrong, my friend gets hit in the face some how by the bouncers which causes him to lose his glasses, so he fought back. He can't see very well without those, and last time I spoke to him he was going back for them.
I'll let you know what happens!
