Hey Andy, that Warthog didn't seem to have differential track steering. Just seemed to use the brute force in the hydraulic articulation to 'bend' the vehicle in the middle!

Our big chamber has a painted floor, so I was able to steer left and right without moving. Like a big 17 ton dog wagging its tail!

That made me spit me Ribena,
I can remember doing that when I was younger, trying to push the pedal through the floor pan.

That's what I was alluding to in my post - that people panic and freeze with their foot on the brakes. You need a bit of training / practice to get used to the idea of releasing them. I did a days training at Castle Combe - it was brilliant !

That's one way of describing it but they can still slide out of control - I've seen a 432 slide sideways into a wall on ice and I was commanding a 434 which persisted in carrying straight on despite the driver putting his full weight behind the right tiller ...

I was fortunate enough to learn to drive in Germany so I've got half a clue about driving in snow and ice but 80% of the muppets on the road over here haven't any bleeding idea !

                PS
If I sound grumpy it's cos the stupid tw@ts managed to gridlock Reading on Monday night and it took me five and a half hours to get from one side to the other

Getting back on topic. The more I think about what the idiot in the subject was doing, the angrier I get. He is a f@nny of the highest order.

As has been mooted, it was thankfully just a hedge that was hurt and not someone in front of it.

It's a crying shame that he was able to taint the gene pool in the first place, but if he continues the way he is, he and his son will probably end up being deleted from it.

Although totally pointless and with little talent required to do it, 'drifting' on a track is a totally different thing to skidding, sliding, slipping on the road. When these drifting idiots eventually crash, they only hurt themselves. Doing any such activities on public roads can have much more serious implications.

                    Rubber tracks. No problem!

They aren't as 'rubber' as I remember them being. They are like a polyeurethane plastic.

Hush puppies - great for reducing road damage from steel tracks but not so good when they detach from the track and get fired at following vehicles ....

The whole thing was really quiet. At low speed in the carpark, it was drowned out by our fork-lift!
