I am not haveing a good time with it right now and am no computer tech

had a hard time loading a page in the browser and just had a go at the speed test and i will not even give me a result .

zoom router ( internet ) light is flashing so i think the means it is dropping the conection all the time , so my question is , do i need a new one ?

              Hi John,
These are instuctions from talktalk, and they work.
First, turn off the router for a minute the turn it back on.
If that does not work, dissconnect all the phones and filters
in the house, and plug in the router on it's own, if that works
your problem lies with one of the phones, I had this prob and it
was the bedroom phone??? I've now got a two hand set mobile
              unit and no probs.
              Hope this helps.

              Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

no , but i have a 3 phone mobile set up so only one phone has a conection to the line and that is filltered , but one of them has been playing up ( not holding a charge ) and now looks to be dead .

mm looks like i need some new phones now.

Right thanks all i seem to have a better conection now , shut down everyting and tossed a phone hand set in the bin . i need a bigger hammer .

the dead phone was left in the charger so i think that may not have helped but the shut down did show a result , so thanks all .
and merry christmas to you all.

right then , it all went slow (even slower ) so i had an hour long chat with BT and they did some line checks and said everything was fine and it was the sites i was going to that had the problem , so i told him i was on the BT site and it would not load

so after some more checks they have passed it on to the line engineer ?.

so if i am not on for a few days that means they ####ed up .

                              Merry Christmas everyone .
