The other 1/2 has just had a lesson in trying to drive a Surf with axles in the vertical, fortunately she's ok but the Surf doesn't look too clever on the tarmac side. I'll have to wait 'till Monday to find out what the insures will pay out on a '93 car - not a lot I guess. Just fitted a new exhaust & tyres too. F**k it. I'll see what the buy back possibilities are, it would be a real shame to see all the good bits going to waste. Is a rebuild worth considering on a KZN 130 manual?
    Sh1t.

That would depend on what needs doing, Stormforce and others would probably do you a good price on bulk buy of doors and wing etc.
Glad to hear no one was hurt.

About 3 hours ago, a slight hill, sheet ice, slithered up a bank, the n/s front stopped but the forward momentum had to go somewhere I guess & she flipped. As mentioned, fortunately my soul mate is ok. I'll try and att a pic.

One of the neds did a similar thing earlier today in Stirling. Just driving a bit too quickly for the conditions i guess.

Thanks for the responses chaps. S'pose sh 1 t happens sometimes.

Richard. I think the pillars have moved a bit. The screen burst & there is a ripple in the panel below the rear window. I don't know how much hidden damage the may be from a tumble like this. The car was obviously pretty graunched on that side but looked looked drivable when the wrecker got it back on its wheels on the flatbed. I'll get to the recovery shed on Monday & take some pics which I'll mail to you for an opinion.
                    I think I need a drink!

Oh so that's what happened in the pic, ouch!

is it worth buying back, stripping for parts (a good engine/gearbox would cover the buyback costs I would think??) and then buying a new one with the accumulated money, then you can use your new tyres as well?

Right on Dave.If the pillars etc are done aswell then they will write it offIf you got a cheap old set of wheels to put on there then yea if the buy it back price is reasonable then you can take off anything decent i.e ecu =£100 plus wheels and tyres Maybe £150-£200 and any other bits Alternator £50 starter £50. then scrap whats left for another £100.Its just the smaller bits you can take off and sell or keep for your next truck just to save the scrappy having it all
