As the title says really, anyone put a Cat C write off car back on the road? The story behind this it that I have recently bought a Corsa that has been registered as Cat C the front passenger side has been hit. The only damage is bent wing, bumper and bonnet. My original plan was to remove the engine and place it into my existing corsa. However it would be easier to remove the body panals off my corsa and put them onto the written off one. The question is what is required to put a Cat C back onto the road?

ive never done a car but believe as above you do the necessary work then get it inspected by VOSA. i wasnt sure if you still had to do a seperate MOT after that or if it was included with the VOSA test.
ive done it with a bike before but just had to get an MOT with that.

im sure mine is a cat c i didn't have to get it checked by vosa as i intend to keep it the only time i will have to do that is if i lose the log book as i cant get another one with out a check .or if i want to sell it.the other thing is i dont get the tax reminder anymore .if your buying a cat c the only way you can get a log book is getting it tested .as fore ins company as long as you get a new mot they should be ok

ive done it,the vosa test is a vic test, not many places do it,check vosa site, test is about 80 quid iirc,it like an mot but worse, car needs to be a1,get it mot'd before the vic,as it has to have fresh mot to be on the road, then vic test, then apply for log book
steve if your driving a cat c without a test, get it done!,sure it wasnt cat d?that doesnt require vic test,ps cat c isnt always structural, just un economical to repair
