Help please on purchase

I am looking to buy a diesel surf. Firstly should I choose the 2.4 or 3 litre diesel ? What fuel consumption should I expect on road from these two variants? Also does anyone have any recommendations for dealers in the north west where I could purchase my surf. Considering Moss 4x4 in Leigh, Lancs anyone dealt with them ? Any hints tips appreciated.
