BTW did you know that in 1941 the Japanese captured an American Jeep and Toyota were ordered to build a 4 x 4 based on the Jeep but with diffences. So in essence you can thank Jeep for the Toyota 4 x 4's we have on the market.

I thought that honour went to the Landrover itself and not the Range Rover as the Range Rover only came out in the seventies and we were using the equivalent of the Countryman SUV in the fifties and sixties. The Amazon SUV came about in the early fifties. So both long before the Range Rover.
