ive found some rather old school wheels that i'm hoping will fit the surf, but i'm terrible at working out the offset, can someone help?
found an et stamp on the wheels but in inches which is 0.2,also took some other measurements, from the very back face of wheel to the back where it would attach to hub,ie where bolts go thru is 4 inches, and from that spot to outer rim is 5 and three quarter inch, and wheels are 8.5 j,can anyone help?

They are a negative offset. 5-3/4 minus 4 = 1-3/4 negative if my maths are correct. Odd size though at 8.5. You'd have to fit 12" wide tyres to these I think. Also a JJ type are a better rim as far as I know.

Maybe 7/8" negative offset as you have to halve the figure I stated above........I think. Add 7/8" to 4" and you get 4-7/8' and deduct 7/8" from 5-3/4" and you also get 4-7/8" which is the centreline of the rim. Understand? I hope so, because I've confused myself I think.

Wouldn't have a clue. What's the PCD (wheel stud Pitch Circle Diameter) of the rims? What tyres do you plan to put on them? The offset sounds ok as it's about -22mm. I wouldn't use rims with a J tyre bead profile though.

Patrol rims will have a larger centre hole so more pressure will be placed on the studs. The j or jj relates to the rim profile where the tyre bead fits. Remember reading somewhere that the jj is better but can't remember details.
