Well I eventually got round to changing the Bronze Bushes, Steering Idler and CV Boots, and the results are No More Rattling! At last my Surf no longer sounds like an old tesco shopping trolley running over cobblestones.

Were you so gratefull you needed to say it twice?
I did mine about 18months ago, lasted about a week before it started to rattle again. Hope yours is a permenant fix. I am about to put free wheeling hubs on mine that'll stop it rattling.
