Shocking bad weather over here at the moment.

This little road near kinsale, co.Cork was one of many roads made unpassable by mother nature. Doesnt look that bad but a local said it was over 3.5ft deep....REVERSE.




Another road doing an impression of a river in the same are. Did i go through? Not a feckin chance! Mitsu shogun was stopped in its tracks & just about reversed out. No snorkel, no way.


A beach near Kinsale. That pebble beach im parked on was very slippery terrain, its like driving on big wet marbles.


Damaged road near where i live. Some silly bugger tried to cross it in a regular car & guess what? Just to the right of the pic (out of sight,sorry!) i could see the tips of the tyres poking through the water. Yikes!!!

Ahhhh get in there and find out, you tart! As long as you take it slow and it doesn't come past the bottom of your headlight you'll be fine. I dont need to tell you NOT to go into flowing water if you dont know how deep though.

'Locals' are always wimps! I remember the floods of summer 2007(?) over here and the amount of people in 4x4s waving me away and telling me floods were too deep. Most were like 18" - 2ft and easily drivable! Deepest was around 3ft, and still OK. There was one woman in a Shogun coming the wrong way down a one way lane who stopped me telling me the flood was too deep. Less than 12" when I got to it! Pah!!

Dragged a few less fortunates out of those floods, so a few people were glad I could get through them!

<note> I do have a snorkel and a 5" lift though

in that top picture it doesnt look that deep

i was told a flood was too deep a few months back, ignored the guy
water came just over bonnet of the landcruiser for the last 10ft of the flood, it has been 2ft deep for the previous 1/2 mile
i ordered and fitted a safari snorkel shortly afterwards!

I wish i could have, its just my surf is my only form of transport & i just couldnt take the chance. Trust me i sat there for a good 20 mins but the local put me off!
There was another part of the same road about 50ft behind where im stopped that was 'flooded' but it couldnt have been more than 1.5ft? no problem.

In her current state my surf has zero water protection. Must get snorkel & a bit more lift.

Cheers Looks like you lot got the worst of it. Places that were flooded down here were very low lying.
The carrigohane road next to the lee river was 'interesting' last night!!!! I had to drive down it, bit dodgy in some places.

We dont really get much flooding where i am as we're on the coast so theres alway somewhere for the water to escape to. High tides and some big waves this week though.

Still fancy a snorkel though.

That is NOTHING look at the flooding we had in Surrey this week, this AMAZING image was taken in Epsom, a lady in a Range Rover was contemplating driving though it but we were able to warn her before it RUINED her car Phew....
