Thats nothing new. I have a parking ticket from Roswell (yes, of UFO fame) which arrived for me 3 weeks after getting back from the States

my mate got done for some motoring offence (can't remember exactly what, something to do with his age or insurance??) in australia... he was leaving that week, so ignored it...

a few months later, he got a court summons for the UK and got 50 hours community service for it!

I don't see a problem with that as long as those long haul drivers and visitors from the continent are nailed also for bad driving while driving in the British isles.
