Check the backend out. Until you know what you have there, there's no use ripping things apart at the front. You need to know whether the original setup is there and working or whether that mess of wiring is a bypass of some sort.As to how you test the motor, it has two connections. Make sure you disconnect the motor from the existing wiring before going any further. Also make sure that you use a fuse inline in one of the jumper wires you make for testing the motor and connect one wire to battery pos and the other to battery neg. The motor should spin one way. Reverse the connections and it should spin in the opposite direction.

Then i would go to Yoshies, he would laugh, fix it and id be none the wiser. Al keep at it, try all that stuff out the morn, i take it if the straight battery to motor dont work then that the motor fooked
