            I'm thinking they'd be very dim......

            Personally I'd prefer them to hang downwards and be as close to the roof as possible but I don't know if that would help or hinder the actual lighting performance ?

              Not sure why you think they're wired in series. I would guess its simply a 12v feed, and the return is through the roof bar / roof. Might mean taking a bit of paint off the roof somewhere though...

              From an aesthetic point of view, I prefer them close to the roof, and its a bit of an advantage too because the roof stops light spill onto the bonnet.

                andy did the ones you had fitted to your`s just bolt straight on to the underside of the bar or did you make a bracket up?

                  I used some 2" aluminium angle bolted to the front of the bar, and the lights slung underneath that. It worked out that the lights were fitted with the mount upwards, around the same height as the top surface of the bar with about 10-20mm clearance to the roof.

                    And they are going on this winter....little blue led's as side lights..best mod ever...they never went when the truck was scrapped

                        Not half andy. I find myself driving out of town at about 40 mph...bl00dy deer!!.
