    Just wasting time surfing and found these guys in the states....

    They do Defender (nothing to do with the green oval variety)roof racks rated at 150lbs which mount using rubber rivet bolts ??!!!
    No need to remove the head lining and apparently water tight.

          How does import duty work or can you get them to open the packs and say they are second hand ???
          I suppose the big downer is the shipping costs and the fact you may have to wait ill christmas......bugger said christmas....damn said it again........

            They're like a Rawl bolt type design but the sleeve section is rubber with a nut moulded into the end. They expand when you tighten them. Riggers sometimes use them when fitting to concrete panels and suchlike where any normal type of bolt/sleeve won't be able to get a purchase due to the thickness or strength of the retaining material.

              I think it's something like, if the value of the goods are over £80 then they'll sting you for tax.

                  30 years ago we used em in engineering, not sure if there still available / used but think they were called Avdel nuts ...

                  There's always a Payback .... Don't know where n ya never know when tho !!!!
