Have you searched out TJM, OME, Rancho? And are you sure you need +4"? I have the LC spring lift with +2" shocks and have never had any problems. If you really think you will, just knock up a pair of 2" spacers for the shocks. What you have is a small problem that is surmountable very easily with a little thoughtCutting steps in the roof of the world

yes i definately need the plus fours for the back as i was told the landcruiser springs and the spring adapters equal 4" or there abouts. im putting the 2" ball joint spacers on the front so the front only needs a plus 2" shock. im not changing the bumpstops on the back so i thing i will definately need the plus 4s for compression and extension with articulationCompletely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

this lift has been a pain in the arse for me to be fair, it has cost me money to move the exhaust as well and i dont really want to pay 200 for 4 shocks when procomp were doing them for 40 quid a piece.Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

I guess it goes back to what you're going to use it for. If it is for super extreme, push to the limits pay and play, you bought the wrong truck - you should have bought an SJ. If its for laning / some pay & play, it will be fine.
<edit> why did you need to move the exhaust to do a lift?Cutting steps in the roof of the world

its not cost cutting its run out of budget. i need to get it mobile again and if plus 2s will do it for now then so be it. i can get them from roughtrax for a reasonable price and try and source some tidy shocks when i get the money.Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

ah but here is my situation gentlemen, firstly my old mud terrains are worn and useless now bordering on illegal, so i then went out to buy some new tyres in 33" like i always wanted for this truck, stein said he was making balljoint spacer which seem to be like rocking horse crap so i took advantage of that and got myself everything i need. set my budget but its just the shock are letting me down. but with some plus 2" from roughtrax at least the truck will be mobile and ready for toms farm in a couple of weeks.
so its either spend twice on shocks, or twice on tyres. i know which id rather choose, plus its only the 2 rears that will need replacingCompletely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

why get +4 shocks, get some +2 shocks any make you like as long as they have a stem fitting at the top and an eye at the bottom, then all you have to do is cut off the axle mount at the bottom, fab up a bracket on the axle that raises the mounting by 2" and then weld the mount to said bracket, job done, jeeeeeez.Last edited by surfenstein; 22 October 2009, 19:46.www.overfab.uk
