  • can you help me price up

havnt been on here for a while, still searching for a job etc, need to sell my surf but dont know were to start on pricing it? as u know the front diffs gone but its had extensive work done in the past 3 months, and iv spent near 3grand (i know you dont get your money back as iv learned on RS's) but the tyres have not really been used, had new discs, pads calipers, tray back, cage, service, pro comps body lift, i know its an unfinished project but it drives and only needs some cosmetics done to finish. what do you think its worth?

    cheers

Unfortunately, it is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay, which will not be anything like the time and money you have invested in this project.

I would try and find some way to get the diff fixed because otherwise any potential buyer will use that to bargain against you big time. Also, try and get the niggly little jobs sorted.

At the end of the day you are trying to sell a car that was made in the early 90's so it's getting a bit long in the tooth.

Think about advertising it on some specialist 4x4 websites (like this one!) - more chance of a serious buyer.

Maybe contact Surfenstein - he sold a heavily modded Surf on here a while back and has knowledge of this very issue.

    Good luck!

i wanted 2200 for it, you think letting it go for 1800 is ok, accounting for the price of the diff etc?

to be honest mate you will be lucky to get £1500 for it in todays market.
i couldnt sell stein although he was very heavily modded in the end i swapped him for a scooby, our heavily modified suzuki wouldnt sell either in the end it also went for less than 2 grand, your better off keeping it and sorting the diff when you get another job,

I just bought a perfect '94 3.0L for £1350. I'd be surprised if you got over a grand for a broken one.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Do you have an engineer’s report for the work that has been carried out? If not it might be worth getting one as it would make selling your truck easier. There are some good home builders out there..... but there are also some right cowboys who badly bodge things and such a truck could be a death-trap.
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL
