    Evening All

Was wondering if any of you good folks have had your surfs converted to run lpg instead of diesel? Is it possible to do this? I'm fairly non-mechanically minded so this may seem like a daft question! If anyone has had their surf converted what does this mean in terms of performance and maintainance?

Hope you can help - there is no better place to ask these types of questions and get good, informed answers!

    Thanks again

My wifes Uncle runs a Diesel Trooper , no comment , and enquired about LPG . The specialist said below 3.5 litres it was not worth the expense . But that may just be his opinion .

You can convert a diesel to run LPG but it runs in addition to the diesel. Diesel works on compression whereas LPG has to work on combustion but 'm unsure how it all fits together and works
I have an LPG kit on my V6 and the company who fitted has a '96 Camel Trophy Disco diesel with an LPG kit on. John (garage owner) states that for the outlay you have to do a lot of miles to break even let alone get a return on installing a kit.
The other way to go is a vegi-oil burner
      NO WORRIES!

There was an article in a magazine a while back about an off-roader who ran a diesel engine with an lpg kit. I seem to remember it used lpg as well as the diesel, not instead of and the lpg was used to give a power increase (presumably a bit like a nox kit).

Yeah that's right - I was at John's place when he was talking to SSRX (deceased) about it.
John said that it makes you use less diesel but on the small amount of LPG being consumed it takes a long time to recoup any costs
