At the risk of getting in the way of flying mud - I'm a newish member; I have read posts regularly for over a year now and enjoyed the banter but have been surprised at the vitriol of certain members and wondered why they post at all. I recently joined because I had an issue with my Surf and paid my subs with pleasure. They have been repaid 10 fold already, but money alone is not the issue - I feel as though I get good impartial advice by the range of members with a lot more experience than I will ever have. I have passed on my experences because they may be of assistance to someone in my own position as an amateur mechanic only. I believe the purpose of this site is to distribute more widely the knowledge of the few who really do understand what they are doing, and to foster closer ties between enthusiasts with similar interests. If someone wants to post obnoxious comments about other members who might occasionally be grumpy, but are knowledgable - then perhaps they should ask themselves why they are drawn to a site which is "not the real world" to attack people who are giving their own time without payment to help people in need of help. Being rude does not help anyone. I personally would be dissapointed that anyone would want to leave or take a break from a site that offers so much.

This forum is unique because of the way we interact i admit there have been some odd balls on here, but i have got so much good advice from all the people who contribute to help others, we all have. If you dont like a response you dont have to follow it up. I would like to say thank you to all who have offered advice to me in the past...............OH i am not going anywhere

Read my post, I didn't say I was leaving, I said I'd give it a rest for a while. I actually do have some good friends on here and it was more of an informative post for them. Please don't tell me not to come on here anymore, I've been a paid up member for a lot of years, I've contributed write ups and advice when needed and I have no intention of letting someone like you bully me into leaving. No drama, just a statement in the General section of the forum.
