  • I stroked a fox.

A proper wild one at work the other day. Took the best part of an hour to get it to come over to me.
It was a lovely wee thing, I liked it

One of the technicians where I work feeds a fox out the back of the building most days, in the centre of Belfast. It's pretty tame now, but I've never seen it come that close to anyone.

They are beautiful animals when they're in good form. Used to get loads of them where I grew up (Edinburgh, pretty close to Blackford Hill). Them and badgers at my friend's house (Corstorphone), one of them cornered me one time when I was locking my bike up.

This one has been in the control building before. A couple of the guys have fed it bananas, of all things, but always at arm's length. I think I'm the only one that's actually stroked it.

Used to feed one when I worked at Borg Warner - her name was Samantha.

But they are total TW4TS if you are a sheep farmer down here - they are mindless killers and in the spring can destroy a farmers entire year in a few nights of carnage.

I go biking up the valley occasionally and in the Spring you can sometimes smell the sweet scent of rotting lamb......

I totally understand that. But they are beautiful animals. And I'm definitely smitten by this one.

Undoubtedly, Paul. It did make my day. I still smile when I think about it.

Funny you should mention foxes, ive just got in from shooting & have been watching one through the sights for a good half hour.

I personally don't see the point in killing them even though i do shoot vermin.

Bet the one you saw comes back to see you again.
If its not broke don't fix it.

No, they keep the rabbits in check.
