Well, after a great weekend, the truck is ill - very ill - I had to cry off Sunday as the steering was out, and I was constantly pulling to the right, so had to keep a left turn going to stay in a straight line - not something I wanted to attempt on Happy Valley....

It seems the OSR shock has snapped or has a hole in it, and is no longer doing anything, the truck sits about 2" lower on that corner and wobbles like a jelly on the road.

The brakes are toast and I have to over compensate again while braking, the steering is out and all this is like doing the macarana while driving...

There's oil all over the drive, the idle is pulsing and it still sounds like a Fiesta under acceleration....

Time to retire it until I've got time to fix it - or hand it over to someone that can help me get it right...

sounds like time to weigh up your options, from what u said yesterday, your in need of a head, plus new shocks etc, thats some bill, mind u i spent 1200 quid on mine,my reasoning was although i could have just about afforded a twin cab,it was on the same mileage as surf and would have cost me 3 grand, way i look at it is,better the devil u know

Check your rear springs too Andy. A shock breaking wont affect the ride height, but a spring snapping will!

These aren't your shiny new shocks are they?

The spring needs re-seating, as it's always been out of alignment compared to the other side - the shock is fubar'd though....

And no, the rears are still my old Pro Comps - hadn't got round to fitting the new ones yet
