depends , what sound does it make,if its a constant note it may need a heavier relay than the surfs .Originally posted by hiroler View Postok so i have a new air horn "nautilus" compact one! can i just plug it straight in the the existing horn wires? it comes with a relay but i take it i dont need that as the surf horn already has one????JAP4X4PART ¬ THE BIGGEST SURF BREAKER IN THE UK ¬

yeah its constant!! its not a large compressor tho! just been out and installed it sounds good just unplugged one of the surf horns and ran the cable to the new horn installed next to the battery where the air scoop was removed for the snorkel easy job!! unless of course it catches fire due to the wrong relay!!

It's not so much the relay, (which should cope), but the wiring. You should use the existing horn wire to power the new relay coil and run a direct fused feed from the battery through the new relay for the compressor itself.Originally posted by hiroler View Postyeah its constant!! its not a large compressor tho! just been out and installed it sounds good just unplugged one of the surf horns and ran the cable to the new horn installed next to the battery where the air scoop was removed for the snorkel easy job!! unless of course it catches fire due to the wrong relay!!

Wasn't takeing the pi$$ exactly (well apart from the flask and sandwiches, there was a "happy eater" across the road) i really did spent a lot of time at our local scrappy, always come home with all sorts, bulbs wireing, once got the entier power steering system bits for my old PC cresta,Originally posted by BigBobE View PostAh come on now, i'm not that bad, i just wander round see something interestin and then its off home to fit it.Too young to die and too old to give a toss

I can see some of their point of view, (namely the ones who used to let people roam and stopped letting them do so). Some people just take the mick by walking in with empty toolboxes and walking out with full ones.Originally posted by Albannach View PostApart from those ones that won't let you wander about. Don't see the point in that!
They know what I'm like at the local yards though, so they just give me that 'the saddo's back look' and let me go delving.
Even now though, (I class it as politeness), I never take tools in except in the hand or pocket and always empty out my pockets before leaving the yard. They never play silly buggers with me so I make sure I return the favour by making sure they know they have no need.

I came home with a heated fuel filter assembly off a Renault last time I went there.
That's getting fitted to the logeygen. Was extremely tempted to attack an old Landy to get the instrument cluster for the Gypsy too, but managed to resist on that one, (for the time being).

No need to attack it, just a gentle shove and it'll fall off?Originally posted by MattF View PostWas extremely tempted to attack an old Landy to get the instrument cluster for the Gypsy too, but managed to resist on that one, (for the time being).
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's
