      BJ40 = 3.0D SWB 1974-1984

      was just looking at this site yesterday http://www.brian894x4.com/LC40.html and thinking I haven't seen one of these models in ages, I'd love one. Then this morning one turns up in the car park at work ('86 I think by the reg), and then you ask about em too!!! Wierd.

          Yea rust was a problem on them, but bits are available as they were made in brazil untill 2001 I think (lots of good links from that site above). Body parts are pricey tho.

          Surely you're not lookin for another project, are you?

            The UK was never a big market for 40 series 'cruisers but even here there are lots around.

            The red one is a 1976 original with just a few customised bits and the green one is a fake mostly made from Hilux parts.

              Morr - Ah just thinkin bout it thats all but i dont know enough bodyshop stuff to tackle it. It'd be cool to copy the red one Elvz posted even though it'd be a shame to scrap the one good panel left being the non-metal roofIts an '81 by all accounts

                      I'm sure he would but he'd still want 900 for the cruiser!
