One more question "sorry for being a pain", i was told to go for a twin axle, does it make alot of difference to the road handling?

Not really, twin axles just mean they can carry more weight and have more room inside. I looked at a couple of twin axles and they were on the limit of the Surf's towing weight and that was before it was filled with stuff.
Ours is probably the longest single axle 'van you can buy, (22 feet) has a fixed double bed and it tows fine. (will be even better when I fit the up-rated springs to the truck)

If you can, buy one which has an Alko hitch coupling, the red coloured one that 'locks' onto the towball, they're much more stable when towing.

Sorry to bother you again vince, going to order the tow bar from r-trax this week, do i need this aswell.

Reason i ask is because i was thinking that the tow bar will be quite high up on the surf.

Ordering the tow bar & double electrics, now will the standard ball be strong enough or would you recomend the 3.5ton heavy duty one?

Just get the towbar from Roughtrax, the rest you can get from Halfords.

You'll need a six hole drop plate like I did.
Four nuts/bolts/spring washers for the drop plate.
Also, get an Alko towball from Halfords too they're about £20 and they're the swan neck type which you'll need for the Alko coupling. (They're suitable for the older type couplings too)

Oh and a cover for the alko towball, they need to be kept clean and dry as the stabiliser won't work properly. The cover supplied with the standard towball will fit, but not correctly. You'll also need some emery cloth or wet&dry paper to rub the paint off the towball-ball, as the Alko coupling has brake pad type grippers in it and need a dry, grippy ball to 'grab' onto.
