I was 16, so he has a few months on me.

    I tell a lie, I was 15. Started my apprenticeship when I was 15, not 16.

Excellent. My 9 year old is desperate for a drive of the surf, but he's such a shortarse I told him he has to be at least 5 feet tall...I'm sure he's trying to figure out how to stretch his self

It does help to have a 'normal' handbrake too, that can be grabbed quickly..

That's why his first drive is going to be in the biggest wide open space I can find.. Something as big as,say,Belgium

Cannot remember the first time on me own, when we was real small me dad always let us sit on his lap and steer, do remember driving his bedford cf camper on pendine beach when i was 14.... went there last year and the only vehicle allowed on the beach was mr softy....... used to drive his mini van he had from work as a plumber across gosling stadium football fields when i was 15..... also when i was only just 17 i drove on L plates from welwyn garden city to cockermouth on the motorways with me nan and grandad asleep in the back....well they were driving instructors. Nan kept muttering "70 miles an hour" then she'd nod off again.......
                            Remember arrows are silent.....................
Don't forget to tell everyone its indestructable as seen on top gear.......
