Sounds something like my last insurance comapany that was insuring my Car pre Accident. I purchased the surf as a replacement for my Astra before a went on holiday, when i arrived back i found out that they will not insure the Surf and then they proceded to cancel the insurance that i had all ready paid a large deposit for before i want away (great customer experiance) ..... This then gave me 2 days to find an insurance company before i was Ilegal.

I noticed that another thread mentions Hyperformance.....

A&A aka Hyperformance in my opinion do not provide good customer relations and are still not refunding the deposit i paid before i want on holiday.

In the future i will not use A&A or any susidury companys.
I will not be endorsing them to anyone who asks and if asked I will advise them or my dealings with A&A.
    Always room for more power!!!!

Hopefully you paid via credit card. This way just contact your card company for a charge back. You will need to provide details and follow the protocol but at the end of the day it's almost hassle free and you get the money back.
I'm currently filing one for Oyster card. They cancelled my month travel card without any notice whatsover and refuse to give me a refund now, even after verbally admitting to me it was a mistake. They also refuse to answer my emails, or call me back. They have a weird (ahem CRAP) system where you cannot speak directly to refunds department...

Just been quoted £292.46, fully comp and legal cover from Adrian Flux with all mods included, plus off roading.

I was also quoted £215.47 for TPFT, I'm sorely tempted to go with this. I've always been fully comp but £77 is quite a saving. Then again there's no windscreen cover and if I roll it then I'm out of pocket big style!

              DO NOT GO TPFT!!!!!! EVER!

I went TPFT to save a little back in 2007. Then someone hit my truck and did a runner. I was FKED! for 6 weeks, without a car or anything. Even though I had 5 witnesses including Bus CCTV, his insurance company refused to do anything about it. It was only when I began legal action a cheque appeared on my doorstep.
When you are fully comp, you get your insurance company to do EVERYTHING and charge it back to their company.

I had to do ALL the phoning around, ALL the paper work, my insurance company at the time said "Thanks for reporting it, good luck". . Since I wasn't fully comp they couldn't help.

Don't worry mate, it was just a passing thought (that passed very quickly)!

My present insurance company wants £270 fully comp without the mods, an extra £22 to cover all the mods is a bargain. I was just a little taken aback by how much cheaper TPFT was.

Just goes to prove that there is no standard. From getting my original quote last week to accepting it mine went up by £100, why? "because you told us you were doing 12 miles per annum and not the 12000 you later stated, who the hell does 12 miles per annum? Oh and we need to know who fitted the Toad alarm and when, hang on and I'll go find me chrystal ball. I didn't realise when I came back to the UK what a massive mistake I was making.

It would only work out around about £15 less for me, taking T.P.F.T over fully comp. Insurance companies just seem to pick prices at random.

YUP total madness, the original company put the excess up to something ridiculous, and.... when I told them I no longer worked full time, but was a mature student.. whacked on another £100! Dazely gave me a good deal because it's a second car, and limited mileage over the year.. so yeh they do seem to factor the mileage in somewhere, but £159 is just brilliant is it not, that includes off roading, legal protection and windscreen cover! The other quotes varied from £217 to around £325 to a massive £485! crazy... but all done now.
