Hi john, don't mean to sound rude but does anything ever come of these things.
Reason i ask is because i sign things like this all the time & i will sign this one but you never hear about it again, they all seem to come nothing in the end.
Hope ive not offended you in any way because that is not my intention, just asking thats all.

Shouldnt offend anyone its a valid point.
I know what you mean but public pressure does work to a certain extent....but the decision has already been made they will be closed by Sept next year and this is pretty much set in stone. The original idea was banded about a few years ago several times and was quashed at every turn but this time it slipped the net..and apparently they did try to stop the directive which came out early this year but it would have seemed that they would have lost face by imming and awing over it so they said stuff it.... and went ahead even although it will cost more in the long run but thats some other departments budget and they have just saved 1.7million....slaps on the backs all around.....all you can do is show that public opinion is against the closure and it may save at least a couple of them.
Can only speak for myself but they were due to close all the BFPO's in Italy and well, due to a huge outcry (and some other reasons like corruption if you could ever imagine that in mafia land! lol), they are shutting all but the one in Naples ......so at least one was saved... think the rest of them are kinda out of luck tho apart from a central one in Germany. Its all about some beurocrat saying they can save 1.7 million by shutting them down and just using the local post systems which is great in idea but what about the cost to send items from the UK? security....official mail will be sent this way too......the list goes on.....what a government (and no i didn't vote for them!).
...............oh and already signed
